The long-awaited Toyota RWD drive sports car, developed with Subaru to launch in 2012 and 2011 Geneva Motor Show this week confirmed the Japanese auto giant introduced a new concept car previews.
However, the FT-86 II, the new concept on the original FT-86 from 2009 was based, and looks much more like a production model. Toyota acknowledges that it is the strongest indication of how the production model looks like and it is clearly of Toyota sports cars from the past, is characterized as the legendary 2000 GT in 1960 as.
The concept has been written on European design studio, Toyota (ED2) and has a long, low hood, high-set wings and a rear cabin. It measures 4235 mm long, 1795 mm, 1.270 mm wide and high. The wheelbase is 2570 mm long.
A quick refresher of the FT-86: built as a joint project with Subaru, the car is a rear-wheel drive, 3000 pounds, 200 hp, a flat-four-powered coupe.
Subaru is also intended to do a turbo “STI” version of the car, but no word of a similar high-performance variant comes from Toyota.
