American supercar manufacturer Shelby Supercars (SSC), the same company behind the Ultimate Aero has, recently, the wraps of its latest creation, which goes under the name of Tuatara (pronounced twu’tar’ah) already.

The name “tuatara” is inspired by a modern New Zealand reptile with the same name. A direct descendant of the dinosaur. This reptile name translates from the Maori language means “peaks on the back,” which is very reasonable, given the winglets on the back of the new car.

With a carbon fiber body, the SSC Tuatara comes equipped with a 7-liter twin-turbo DOHC V8 engine, developing approximately 1,350 horsepower. The device is paired with a 7-speed manual H-pattern or 7-speed SMG.
