It is no secret that the SEMA show has become a favorite show for car manufacturers to move modified versions of its newest vehicles in the hope of some metal, but there is another part of the show leaves often overlooked view – classic restorations.
Vaughn Gittin Jr., Formula Drift driver and champion of the 2010 season, is of course no stranger Mustangs – he races a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0-powered. Vaughn is on a custom Mustang just like the dealer sold RTR known, and a limited edition all-carbon RTR-C.
Now Vaughn kick it old school with a highly customized 1969 Ford Mustang, as the RTR-X known. The creation of this car is very publicly and read like a reality TV show like Vaughn released early sketches of possible designs and let his fans agree on the design they liked best. From there, Vaughn and his crew a few changes, some popular choices are mixed together, and came with a – surprise – black and lime green Mustang design (no relation to his sponsorship of Monster Energy, of course).
Stay tuned for live images and specifications of the car unveiled last week of the SEMA show floor.
