McLaren revealed today the racing version of the MP4-12, called GT3. The McLaren MP4-12 GT3 was announced in December, but today we get the first chance to life when the company released a video that the new racer in action. Currently, the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 test subjects at MIRA and Silverstone circuit in Britain. The GT3 is by champion driver Alvaro Parente, who just got the McLaren team tested.
The GT3 version of the McLaren MP4-12 was developed in collaboration with CRS Racing. Based on the same, 75 kg, C-mono-chassis as a cell factory, street version of the McLaren MP4-12C, but it comes with racing-specification composite body panels and a fixed rear wing.
McLaren MP4-12 GT3 is replaced by the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, but the regular transmission by a custom paddle shift system and designed a completely new Ricardo transmission. The McLaren MP4-12C GT3 comes with new electronics, a Bosch ABS brake calipers Motorsport and Akebono. The aerodynamics package from the GT3 with a new front splitter, doors, rear wing, diffuser and grille in the front wings.
The racing version of the GT3 car is not allowed to proactive chassis control equipment standard MP4-12C, but it was race-specific roll bars and shock absorbers.
