The concept is a sporty five-door Shinari with a coupe-like profile with a joint effort by Mazda in the U.S., German and Japanese design studios created. The car was unveiled at a press event in the near Milan, Italy.

In Japanese Kodo means “soul of the movement” (thankfully not “put motion”), an apt description of the line of Shinari’s without the smooth running of the Nagare theme. Although Mazda executives were determined to mothers when the Kodo styling language, will make his debut, it is noted that the design will influence the future production will be Mazda. In addition to introducing a new design theme, platform and powertrain systems, says Mazda is there will be better interiors in its future products.

“We want in the same group as BMW and Audi to play,” Derek Jenkins, director of design for Mazda North America, told Automotive News. “On the fit and finish, we want the same level of quality.”
