Hiroshima, Japan-Mazda Motor Corporation was announced today that it is the first Mazda RX-8 Hydrogen RE vehicle with Norwegian specifications specifically for participation in HyNor, National Hydrogen project is designed to build. The first unit will be at the official opening of hydrogen fueling stations HyNor’s. The first opening is in Oslo on 11 May 2009. The RX-8 Hydrogen RE is then the certificate to the local standards will be used for maintenance and staff training. Mazda will lease the Norwegian specifications RX-8 Hydrogen RE in Norway models in the summer of 2009.

Unlike the RX-8 Hydrogen RE in Japan is currently rented, the HyNor specification Mazda RX-8 Hydrogen RE, the latest European specification is based Mazda RX-8 with left and drive a manual transmission.

The HyNor project aims to hydrogen vehicles to travel along a 580 km stretch of the highway by creating a chain of hydrogen filling stations between Stavanger and Oslo in Norway. Mazda agreed to collaborate on a project HyNor began in November 2007 and validation of the RX-8 Hydrogen RE driving performance on Norwegian public roads in October 2008.
