Lotus is preparing for the biggest and most important automotive event of the year takes place in Frankfurt next month with the launch of three new models, a special edition and two new options for the current lineup.

The British company announced that one of the new models, the Elise S, the Elise SC with a stronger 1.8-liter supercharged engine delivers 220 hp will be replaced, while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

For the other two “new models”, we will have to wait until the Frankfurt Motor Show opens its doors on 13 September to find out. It seems, however, is that Lotus will be one of them, “one of the fastest street-legal cars” ever built, while the other marks the return of the brand to “another adrenaline-filled racing discipline.”

The Evora GTE limited edition road car developed by the racing version of the same name is inspired by the three new Lotus cars.

The British carmaker GTE originally planned to offer a limited edition exclusively for the Asian markets, but has now announced that the production can be expanded in all regions.

“The response to this model in China is so incredibly, within a few days we had sold, with 114 orders,” says CEO of Group Lotus Dany Bahar. “In response we have decided that the only logical step from a business perspective, to increase production and expand our reach.”

The street-legal Evora GTE is coupled by the race-adjusted model 444PS V6 engine, driven by a sequential gearbox AMT. An abundant use of carbon fiber parts in the exterior and interior of the vehicle, including doors, bumpers and rear spoiler helps to 105kg (232 lbs) weight from the standard model.

“What’s so special about this car is not only a serious race car – it is a serious car people so excited when they see and hear for the first time it’s a very special car and .. appeal to a very special kind of rider – and they will not be disappointed, “said Bahar.

Lotus finally use the IAA in Frankfurt, two new options, including the introduction show the PLC (Serial Precision Shift) robotized automatic transmission for the 1.6-liter, Elise, and the IPS (Intelligent Precision Shift-) automatic transmission on the Evora S from a 350-hp, 3.5-liter supercharged V6-powered.
