The Lexus hybrid compact CT200h in racing guise is an endurance race this weekend at the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife racetrack debut. Posted by Gazoo Racing, the same organization, the race is in the Lexus LFA CT200h Circuit Adenauer ADAC Trophy. About 200 vehicles will be in line at the start of the race six hours.
The Gazoo Racing CT features of the Japanese car maker Lexus Hybrid Drive, but has a larger capacity 2.4-liter engine instead of the factory 1.8-liter engine for better performance. During acceleration and braking of the car using only the electric motor that consumes no fuel and thus produce zero emissions. The internal combustion engine takes over at higher speeds the electric motor provides extra power for acceleration and speed racing.
The race car shares go with the way CT200h battery and hybrid system, with the latter charge the selection of the most appropriate energy sources and recording energy through regenerative braking, the battery, so the electric motor never runs out of juice.
According to Lexus, requires the Gazoo Racing CT less fuel and emits less CO2 and NOx compete than a comparable gasoline or diesel car.
