Crewe, England – Dirk van Braeckel, director of design at Bentley Motors, earned a major European Design Award for his work on the SLIM Bentley Continental GT. Braeckel was from the prestigious European Automotive Design
Designers Award (Europe) on Wednesday.
Previous winners of the award are Giorgetto Giugiaro and Sergio Pininfarina in 2004 to 2006.Belgium Braeckel born out of a former intern designer at Ford and then to the outside, Audi design team before he worked for Skoda in 1993. He led the design of the Skoda Octavia and Fabia. The designer says he was inspired by the cubist architecture, Gucci, Ralph Lauren and classic cars of the 60s and 70s.
“My vision for the ultimate Bentley was desirable to make a classic of the future,” he said. “This award is a confirmation of this vision.”
