The engineers at Rocket Sports’ Lansing, Michigan workshop took place already potent Jaguar AJ-V8 Trans-Am race engine and increased its displacement by stroking from 4.5 liters to 5.0 liters.
To ensure dynamic handling, the engineers again provide an Eaton supercharger to an estimated 550 hp and 500 pounds feet of torque, making the force the car from zero to 60 km / h in under four seconds and makes it a top speed of 200 miles per hour.
“Many of the lessons we have been included in the development of the 650-hp naturally aspirated Jaguar AJ-V8 race engine for the R-Performance XKR Trans-Am race cars learned in the engine for the XK-RS”, said Gentilozzi.
Any car with more for the sports car enthusiast, had equipped the standard six-speed ZF automatic transmission to replace a five-speed manual transaxle. Re-positioning of the actuator weight to the rear of the car will lead to a perfect 50/50 weight distribution for better handling.
Sports Team Rocket is also a strong expertise in high-speed aerodynamics with its Jaguar XKR Trans-Am race cars, modifying the production XKR body on the ground adjustment ensure stability at high speeds.
Special below air tunnel the length of the cars were made, similar with deeper front and rear spoilers, wider wheel arches and sill aero-style sections where, on the specially-developed XKR that in James Bond played last year adventure show, “Another The Day ‘.
When tested in a wind tunnel, the changes expected in an increase of 100 percent in a row aerodynamic downforce at top speed compared to the standard car.
Production of the XKR suspension was also modified to ensure supercar treatment. The changes are the addition of coil-over high-performance Penske shocks. The concept of a nature that its stopping power to handle expected, R-Performance Brembo calipers with drilled rotors (13-inch rear front/12-inch hits) were added.
And only 200 miles an hour supercar would be complete without a spectacular combination of wheels and tires. The XK-RS comes equipped with three-piece wheels – center-lock ‘Machiavelli Gotti “- 20-inch x 10 inch front, 20 inch x 11-inch rear – shod with high performance Michelin Pilot tires.
