The C-XF is a stunning four-door sedan that combines sporty design purity with unmistakable dynamism and place is a clear indication of the direction the design of the next generation of Jaguar saloons will.
Designed by the same team that produced the award-winning Jaguar XK sports GT range in 2005 – under the direction of the Director of Design Ian Callum and Head of Jaguar Advanced Design Julian Thomson – the C-XF is a forerunner of the car, is recognized for its pioneering and innovative interior exterior.
As a striking interpretation of the design values that are the foundation of every great Jaguar, 2007 Jaguar C-XF Concept is wholly contemporary yet succeeds in paying homage to his famous predecessor.
Exterior Design
Set against the C-XF is a bold and aggressive grille with black chrome. Sunk deep in the body instead of flush with the surface, the visual effect similar to an air intake on a jet engine and serves as a reminder that is behind a sophisticated 4.2-liter supercharged V8 engine.
Viewed Headlights, dual-lamp motif moves on past Jaguars in a slim wedge, are narrow and angular. They bring a touch of aggression to the profile of the C-XF, during shows between the lamps a blue streak of light illuminated an almost cat-Iris. Subtly etched below the lenses is a unique ‘tattoo’ an abstract drawing jumper Jaguar logo – a tattoo, which is repeated in the XKR, the sill and the Pirelli tires, 21-inch machined-measure, made of polished aluminum tread wheels surround .
Walking back from the nose of the C-XF is the main feature line of the car – an unbroken shoulder that runs under Windows in the curve over the rear wheel. It is this feature, a modern interpretation of renowned Jaguar sports saloons from history, that C-XF with its latent power confers. A similar line is also shown on the new XK range and is one of the design elements to be incorporated the next generation of Jaguar.
Interior Design
Design Director Ian Callum describes the cabin of the C-XF as “one of the most exciting interiors Jaguar has ever done.” A look inside the four-seater is enough to understand why Callum has this view.
The focus is instead on tailor-made services pampered luxury and nowhere is this better than the lightweight, sculpted bucket-style seats demonstrated. Finished in semi-aniline leather (specially dyed hide which ensures that even a single color retains its softness) the seats are sporty styled yet also offer impressive comfort thanks to a deeply padded lumbar area with ventilation openings. Twin individual bucket seats house the rear passengers.
Between the seats runs a high center tunnel is central occupants a feeling of deep seating in a futuristic cockpit. One of the keys to any Jaguar interior is that the occupants should feel as if they are trapped in the car, not sitting. The interior C-XF serves only in a manner to create an inviting cabin for passengers push, instead of them surrounded by Bland, open space.
The central point of the Interior has a wipe stroke brushed aluminum that wraps around the cabin in a dynamic linear graphic, instills a sense of speed. To compensate for the aluminum a combination of leather and wood, the detail of the surface is take to a new level.
Power Train
Under the Hood of the C-XF, continued technical excellence is immediately apparent. The car is driven by an improved version of the familiar 4.2-liter supercharged V8 Jaguar engine. Tuned to produce over 420 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque – the latest in a very low revs – this proven engine and six-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift manual shift capability, outstanding athletic performance. If C-XF were a production model, it would reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 kilometers per hour, with the possibility of an unrestricted speed in excess of 180 miles per hour.
