San Carlos, Calif. – The $ 80,000 Fisker Karma, a plug-in hybrid luxury sedan took another step toward reality with the announcement that Fisker Automotive Valmet Automotive and the final contract signed with the vehicle build in Finland.
Valmet Automotive builds the Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman. She said it will build a new body welding line on the production of the Fisker Karma to start fair.
Production will begin starting in the fourth quarter of 2009. “The first cars will be in North America and supplies are delivered to Europe are planned to begin in 2010, the two companies said in a statement. The annual production to 15,000 vehicles connected.
“We welcome the progress in this working relationship, and we know that the team that will help us, our production will end,” said Fisker Automotive’s Chief Operating Officer Bernhard Koehler.
The Karma sprints from zero to 60 mph in under 6 seconds, according to Fisker, and has a top speed of 125 miles per hour.
