Maranello, 13.05.2008 – The first official photos were of the Ferrari California, the latest addition to the new generation of Ferraris were first published in 2004 with the 612 Scaglietti and added to more recently with the 430 Scuderia.
The Ferrari California line 8-cylinder family of the prancing horse, the traditionally defined by power and performance. Also flanks the flagship 612 Scaglietti in the prestige sporty Grand Tourer segment.
The 2009 Ferrari California will satisfy even the most demanding of owners in terms of its superb vehicle dynamics and driving pleasure. The new model is only as a convertible with a folding hard top. The chassis and bodywork are aluminum, in line with the rest of the current product line. The California is mounted by a new V8 engine for the first time in the history of the brand in the small front with Ferrari position.In tradition, the new model also has some new features. Apart from its folding hard top, these include the original concept which guarantees exceptional versatility of the 2 + application in the rear of the car. The Californian 4300 cc V8 engine features direct fuel injection and a “flat” crankshaft. It generates 460 CV at 7,500 rpm with a torque curve that enhances vehicle dynamics and provides maximum driving pleasure which is typical for Ferrari.
According to the traditional Ferrari transaxle layout, the engine of the Ferrari California makes it possible, from 0 to 100 km / h in under 4.0 seconds, with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the car thereby increasing associated performance, while enhancing the driving pleasure, improves ride comfort and reduces fuel consumption and emissions (c.310 g / km CO2). The comfort is enhanced by a new multilink rear axle. The Ferrari California is also with the exclusive F1-Trac traction control system, which debuted on the 599 GTB Fiorano and has been further upgraded to the typical driving conditions expected for this new GT equipped. guarantee Brembo brakes with carbon-ceramic discs as standard equipment efficiency braking.In excellent addition to sporting brand of classic styling, the cabin is beautifully trimmed using quality materials by Ferrari’s own skilled artisans.
