Maranello, Italy – Ferrari 599 GTO that was crowing, “the company’s fastest road car,” Ferrari on Thursday released official pictures and details of the long-awaited car on its debut in late April at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show.
The ultimate road-going cars Ferrari, which is full of aerodynamic improvements, features a 6.0-liter V12 engine 670 hp from buses and 457 pounds-feet of torque. The engine is coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox. Ferrari pegs the rate of rear-wheel drive 599 GTO at 208 miles an hour, and says the car accelerates from zero to 60 mph in less than 3.35 seconds.
Ferrari says that an important goal when developing the 599 GTO weight loss. The 599 GTO has a curb weight of 3538 pounds.
“The result was the widespread use of composite materials and components manufactured with technology tend to racing specifications,” he said in a statement. “These areas are the body and emissions, thinner, with thinner-gauge aluminum and glass, brakes, transmissions and exhaust systems.”
The 599 GTO is heavily based on the Ferrari 599XX. Details on a new GTO include window design and a new double-diffuser at the rear corner. The suspension uses magneto-rheological damper. Carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin tires, size 285/30ZR20 front and 315/35ZR20 rear.
The cabin has F1 Carbon paddle and the virtual race engineer, a system that monitors the status of the car and the driver offers instant visibility of the performance of the vehicle. ”
The Italian automaker says it will be 599 units of the vehicle for “a small number of Ferrari customers on 14 April at the Military Academy in Modena, Italy to build to be considered. The public debut of the 599 GTO is later this month in high-profile auto show in China.
