Both the Coupe and Roadster versions feature a retractable spoiler in the rear of the vehicle that activates when the car is designed reaches 60 miles an hour. The center high-mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) runs the width of the deployable rear spoiler on the Roadster.
To achieve an even more dynamic appearance on Crossfire Roadster, satin silver painted sport bars appear just behind the driver and front passenger seat. They ride in two race-inspired fairings in the top of the tonneau cover to complete the elegant look of the roadster integrated.
A long hood and fast back give the Chrysler Crossfire a dynamic side view. The car’s broad shoulders envelop 19-inch rear wheels, while the front wheels measure 18 inches. The larger rear wheels give the side profile a balanced view.
The Chrysler Crossfire sports a distinctive side line that moves precisely and rapidly from front to rear. The character line crosses a negative formation as it moves from the front through the rear fender to give credence to the name “Cross Fire”. A central axis extends from the bottom of the front of the grille, hood and rear deck and fascia.
Within twin cockpit interior of the Crossfire, this same center spine shape bisects the center console, instrument panel and shifter. The center console has a metallic finish on the top of the instrument panel flows through the center of the car to a twin-cockpit look to achieve. Satin silver accents throughout the interior, addressed including doors, steering wheel and dashboard.
ENGINEERING
The 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Coupe, measured dynamically, has a body twice as stiff as a Porsche Boxster and stiff as a Porsche 911 This engineering feat, let Crossfire Coupe to its sedan-like ride while maintaining true sportsmanship show handling.
The 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster was developed in parallel with the Coupe from the start, in which the structural stiffness of the Roadster has improved. Chrysler Crossfire Roadster customers enjoy
dense, firm and exceptionally quiet ride thanks to the body torsional stiffness of 29.2 Hz Chrysler Crossfire Roadster offers more torque (229 lb.-ft.) than Porsche Boxster (192 lb.-ft.) and BMW Z4 (214 lb .- ft.).
Under the hood is a 3.2-liter 90-degree, 18-valve overhead-CAM delivers V-6 engine 215 hp (160 kW) and 229 lb.-ft. (310 N * m) min torque at 3,000 rpm, both Coupe and Roadster drivers.
The Chrysler Crossfire is equipped with standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP), with the help of the driver control during extreme steering maneuvers and low traction is provided. The Crossfire’s ESP senses when the car starts to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer) and attempts to correct the vehicle course by automatically controlling the throttle and brakes in the application of the individual wheels. This provides directional stability during cornering, even on uneven surfaces.
All-speed traction control also is standard on all models of Chrysler Crossfire. This feature senses drive-slip and individually brakes the slipping wheel and / or reduces engine power until control is then returned. This increases the mobility and prevents slippage when accelerating Crossfire on slippery surfaces. It also provides a degree of stability-oriented and helps the car on its intended course to steer.
The Crossfire Roadster Coupe and standard four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Brake Assist keep the cars straight and retain steerability during braking on slippery surfaces to prevent blocked wheel.
