To celebrate his 50th Birthday Caterham Seven is the most powerful ever, reveals the X330 – a one-time charge model provides an amazing power to weight ratio of 600 bhp per ton of weight. The discreet, matt black concept is based on the flagship CSR Superlight, but the addition of a supercharger to the four-cylinder 2.3-liter Ford Duratec engine increases power massively 260-330horsepower – as the name suggests. That is, the X330 is the equivalent weight ratio puts it ahead of the Bugatti Veyron (521 hp per tonne) and the McLaren F1 (559 hp).The nearly 35% performance hike through a Rotrex C30-94 supercharger, the function which linearly with the speed of the engine reaches boost supplies. In other words, although the X330′s punch is greater at higher speeds do not drive and speed, low speed with an exceptional torque curve with reduced by 221 lb-ft from5500 to 7500rpm – 20 lb-ft more than the CSR260.Since the X330 is an engineering test bed it is envisaged that some of the concepts will eventually find their way into production. At the beginning, with the X330 spearhead the British firm R & D into bio ethanol power in the coming months as to assess the viability of alternative fuels for road and race applications and ensure another 50 years to the history of cement for the legendary seven.to stop, in line with the ethos of the Seven “Add Lightness”, not the end of the X330 to the moving parts.Lighter gauge steel is used in the trellis chassis and the use of new lightweight wheels together with anabundant use of carbon fiber for the bodywork all adds to the stealth appearance of this perfect 50th Birthday present.
