The Activée is on the 1-series coupe is based and developed powered by a lithium-ion battery through a joint venture with Samsung SDI and Robert Bosch. The electric motor is integrated in the back. The speed at 90 miles an hour power will be limited, says BMW.
The automaker says the rear-wheel drive Activée can be fully charged with a high current in 4.5 hours. BMW will field test the car at the end of 2010, lease to customers in certain regions for a year.
