The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is powered by a new 2.5L Ecotec direct-injected 4-cylinder engine in North America. The engine has more than 190-hp with maximum torque of 180 lb-ft estimated. The engine is backed by a Hydra-Matic 6T40 six-speed automatic, which helps to achieve improved fuel economy and performance. GM has yet to be resolved and the fuel consumption and performance figures. No word on whether a V6 drivetrain will be announced.
The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will make his debut in the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show and the 2011 New York Auto Show this week. The 2013 Malibu will go on sale in the United States in 2012 in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. The production will take in the Fairfax, Kansas and Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plants in the United States. Prices will be announced nearer the launch date.
