Volkswagen launched its latest iteration of the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Chicago Auto Show this year, and we are soon in love with the highway-ready VW. Quite beautiful (if definitely sober) sees the Jetta highlighted by larger 18-inch alloy wheels, smoked a more aggressive front and rear lights, and if the whole package is painted in red pull-me-over, we can not help but daydream about The new Jetta GLI cream at our favorite set of twisty roads.

The Jetta GLI seems committed to good performance. Under the hood, Volkswagen 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine is designed at 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. Both manual and a dual-clutch gearbox available, the latter of which allows the Jetta GLI ranges of up to 32 miles per gallon on the highway. Not bad.

The big change is, of course, that the GLI will benefit from a sophisticated independent rear suspension than the standard Jetta, and Volkswagen has transferred its XDS differential cross-technology of the GTI.
