The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is now even more powerful and efficient. As part of the “AMG Performance 2015″ model strategy, the high-performance sedan with the new 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo engine is fitted.
Externally identified the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is the new M157 engine with its new alloy wheels and “V8 Biturbo” lettering on the characteristic, wider front wings. Other unique features include AMG body styling with a specific design for the front and rear door sills with AMG and AMG sports exhaust with two chromed twin tailpipes.
A striking feature of high-quality, beautifully designed interiors, the new AMG performance steering wheel in a three-spoke design. The rim of the wheel, like the 2012 CLS63 AMG is both the top and bottom to better control of the vehicle easier to get flattened. Aluminum shift adds perforated leather in the grip area and three-dimensional design the airbag cover with the “Silver Shadow” element metallic finish of the new e-SELECT lever with embossed AMG badge.
As the CLS63 AMG, the instrument panel of the 2012 E63 AMG, a three-dimensional full-color TFT display in the center of the speedometer. The driver is greeted by the AMG logo on the screen when you open the door.
CLS63 AMG known of the 2012, the new engine with either 518 hp and 550 hp with an impressive reduction in fuel consumption – 22 percent above the European driving cycle.
The eight-cylinder engine, known internally as the M157, a combination of innovative high-tech components such as spray gasoline direct injection with piezo injectors, an all-aluminum crankcase, four valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, air / water intercooler, Generator-management and eco stop / start system. With a displacement 5461 cc eight-cylinder engine develops a maximum output of 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Combined with the optional AMG Performance package, these numbers increase to 550 hp and 590 lb-ft. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG achieves exceptional performance: acceleration from zero to 60 mph takes 4.1 seconds and 4.2 respectively and a top speed of 155 mph or 186 mph with the AMG Performance Package (electronically limited).
The improvements in performance and torque with the AMG performance package is mainly due to the maximum pressure increase from 14.5 to 18.8 psi. Visual distinction is provided by a carbon fiber hood, AMG performance steering wheel with Alcantara black side grips, red-painted brake calipers and a carbon fiber trunk lid spoiler.
