The latest generation of the Focus is planned, on sale in Europe from March 2011 in two body styles, a sporty five-door and five-door stylish car, Ford announced today. UK customers can get the focus on their prices from 2012 GBP15, 995 OTR.

The model is based on new global Ford C-segment platform that is supposedly at least 10 vehicles worldwide and accounts for two million units of annual production support in 2012.

In 1484 mm high (over 17-inch wheels), 4358 mm long and 1823 mm wide (without mirrors), the new 5-door is 16mm deep, 21mm and 16mm longer than the current narrow focus. The wheelbase is 8 mm long 2648 mm.

The 2012 Ford Focus powertrain availability, CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of fewer sums up as:

• 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi with Auto-Start-Stop – CO2  emissions from 109g/km, average fuel consumption from 67mpg

• 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi – CO2 emissions from 129g/km, average fuel consumption from 56mpg

• 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost with Auto-Start-Stop – CO2 emissions from 139g/km, average fuel consumption from 47mpg

• 1.6-litre Duratec Ti-VCT – CO2 emissions from 136g/km, average fuel consumption from 48mpg
