Packaging and Driveline supercar
The Nissan GT-R is a multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the term “the ultimate supercar that can be driven by anyone, anytime, anywhere.” Built on an exclusive Premium Midship platform created specifically for use with the GT-R.
Premium Midship platform uses the world’s first independent rear transaxle suspension attesa E-TS all-wheel drive system, which optimizes weight distribution and load capacity. This layout provides the transmission, the transmission and final drive at the rear of the vehicle without the use of traditional torque tubes, allowing the suspension to operate independently and optimizing grip at each corner.
Under the hood, the Nissan GT-R with an advanced 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6-min VR38DETT 485 hp at 6,400 rpm and 434 lb-ft torque at 3200 Fitted, while Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standards. The engine features innovative plasma-sprayed bores replacing steel liners to get it for less friction, lighter weight, enhanced cooling, power and fuel efficiency, a symmetrical independent intake and exhaust system with two high-performance IHI turbos, a secondary air management system for improved cold-start emissions performance; a thermostat controlled oil cooling to maintain an oil scavenger pump oil flow to the turbo and a lateral wet and dry sump oil system. All GT-R engines are assembled by hand in a clean room environment at the Nissan Yokohama engine plant.
The VR38DETT is a modern paddle-shifted sequential six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the driver will be selected to support race car-like speeds shift. The sequential-shifting transaxle features separate wet clutches for odd (1,3,5) and even (2,4,6) gears and pre-selects the next highest and next lowest gear for immediate shifts. It also features Hill Start Assist for easy starts on inclines.
Contribution to the overall concept of the vehicle balance and low center of gravity, the unique input and reaction shaft design of the rear transaxle offset offers a shorter design profile as compared to a typical manual transmission, moving the focus of the drive train to reduce weight in the vehicle.
Putting the force on the ground has developed an electronically controlled attesa E-TS all-wheel-drive system specifically for the GT-R. The rear drive-biased torque split system from 50:50 to 0:100 vary depending on the speed, lateral acceleration dependent, steering angle, tire slip, road surface and yaw rate. The paper is a special GT-R-specific yaw rate feedback control systems, where the differences between the target amount of steering angle and yaw rate of the yaw rate of the yaw rate sensor and G sensor detects calculated to adjust torque bias measures.
GT-R’s handling tasks are managed by a sophisticated four-wheel independent suspension mounted on a high-precision six-point subframe front and rear. A special Bilstein Damp Tronic driver adjustable shock absorber system utilizes multiple vehicle information to the appropriate damping forces and high level of control offer a variety of driving conditions. The system has three driver-selectable settings Damp Tronic – Normal, Comfort, for maximum suspension compliance, or “R” for the ultimate treatment. The same three-stage adjustability is available for the VDC system and transmission shift operation, which includes a Snow mode. For 2011, the suspension was retuned buses and strengthen the back for comfort while maintaining the treatment.
Stopping power of Brembo monoblock six-piston front and four piston rear calipers with large 15-inch full-floating cross-drilled Brembo brake discs and two low-steel high stiffness brake pads which minimize fade and made intensive braking performance. The brake calipers use bow racing style to radial saddle storage to minimize at extreme braking.
GT-R-specific lightweight 20-inch wheels forged to assist with special knurled with securing the tires during hard acceleration or braking, are nitrogen filled Bridgestone high-performance summer developed run-flat tires specifically for the shoe GT-R front and rear medium 255/40ZRF20 285/35ZRF20. Optional Dunlop SP Sport 600 – 255ZRF40/20 front, rear P285ZRF35/20 performance summer tires are equipped with the ultra high performance summer tire package.
GT-R’s Signature Functional Design – High Performance Aerodynamics and Style The dramatic design of Nissan GT-R is unchanged for 2011, as the function over form “theory. Every styling aspect of the overall design to the smallest detail was designed for the vehicle to maximize the driving experience – if it’s GT-R “supercar” level of performance. Using advanced aerodynamics, GT-R’s aggressive calls styling on the lines of a well-trained athlete, combining strong character, with smooth lines and surfaces.
Hybrid body of the GT-R design is a combination of steel, aluminum and carbon fiber, which offers a unique combination of stiffness, precision and ease.
The body has a low drag coefficient of 0.27, while achieving high front and rear downforce, so that the stability and performance in a variety of driving conditions.
GT-R’s front fenders express power and stability, while delivering the aero-blades “on the fenders ‘leading edges optimum airflow around the tires and along the body. The holes in the fenders’ trailing edge wing structures helps provide downforce and optimizing side air flow. The aggressive front end, with a large hood Ardennes and some central air intake, provides a sophisticated style as well as undisturbed airflow for power and cooling. The “super wide beam” headlights feature three additional sub-reflectors (compared to conventional lights) on a wide spread relief. An automatic ON / OFF function was added in 2011, along with standard-sensitive steering wiper.
Four cab offers the Nissan GT-R a sloping “aero blade canopy” roofline and curved C-pillar “sword edge,” without the distinctive GT-R expressing identity, as well as facilitating air flow around the rear of the vehicle. Signing the back of the GT-R by its trademark four-ring taillights planned, while air flow above and below the vehicle managed by the functional rear carbon diffuser base, rear spoiler and large, integrated quad exhaust tips.
advanced technology GT-R is even used in the paint of the vehicle, a durable anti-chip color and “double clear coat today.” Five exterior colors are offered for 2011, including a special layer contains seven Super Silver paint treatment, a polished front bumper. The Super Silver paint is baked five times and is hand polished by craftsmen. Front and rear panels receive double clear coat for 2011.
