This is instead of something more comfortable as a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series and Lexus LS. When building a large luxury car, a bit more commitment and entertaining, I think, Jaguar cut a nice niche in the market, and probably do know that as Raynal says, it is more than one a Maserati Quattroporte S-Class .

From behind the wheel seemed to me a long XF in the steering response was immediately (with management control of the XKR) and the suspension, the aluminum-intensive chassis holds an impressive flat round corners. It feels very light on his feet probably used in no small part thanks to all the aluminum, to take into account the weight under control. The result is a car that will not ride not as smooth as a S-Class or 7 series, but still meets in the city. One quibble is that I was a bit more weight than the control.

The V8 supercharged engine has no problem moving the XJL together quickly, and when coupled with the ZF six-speed manual gearbox, it makes a huge drive train. As always, the transmission into tears and downshifts quickly. Note that Jaguar does not opt for a seven-or eight-speed devices like many other full-size luxury barges left, but with six gears. Therefore, it is a disadvantage in being able to better fuel economy with a higher speed gear back, but avoids unnecessary gear hunting. Or I could see too much and the Jag does not look over the budget by a transmission with more gears at the moment and went with the six-was on the shelf.

Getting back to the engine, the turbocharged 5.0-liter is just a monster and takes up all the rpm / s with a nice exhaust growl.

The interior is a cocoon of leather, with tasteful wood trim on the doors and beautiful piano black finish on the center console. Even copying Raynal, the dashboard has a light, cool after the needles around the speedometer and tech, but there are some considerations of the needle sweep the Techs. The chairs were too flat for my taste and would benefit from more lateral support, and the center touch screen is still a bit slow between the menu screens. Apart from that, the interior is a work of art and is an excellent place to stay

In all this car is really well done, that the attention of people caught using her good looks and to keep his athletic drive, surprising character. We now have one of these for our long-term fleet.
