Launched in 2011, Ford Explorer just made its debut in the morning and FoMoCo already using the online configuration that all prices for the new model. The new Explorer will begin production later this year on FoMoCo’s Chicago plant and dealer will touch just in time for the winter.
2011 Ford Explorer all models are powered by a 3.5L V6 engine makes Ti-VCT 290 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. The base model gets a regular six-speed automatic transmission, while getting the XLT and Limited, the company’s new six-speed automatic select Shift.
Ford also offers an optional 2.0L turbo an inline 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine and an intercooler 237 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Prices for the four-cylinder EcoBoost model will be a premium over the V6 – Numbers are announced at a later date.
