Since the launch of the new Chevrolet Camaro owners in the past year examined the performance of the car. The Camaro SSX Track Car is a concept for the conversion of a street Camaro SS in a closed course track car, and a showcase of new performance parts.
“The Camaro Concept SSX excellent road performance to explore and expand their way into context,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet marketing. “The car speaks Camaro performance, including the identification of new Chevrolet commitment to the development and deployment of a portfolio of performance parts for racing enthusiasts.”
The Camaro SSX track car has a specific aesthetic, from outside appointments and suspension modifications to the road course performance. These include carbon aerodynamic parts – front splitter and adjustable rear wing – lightweight carbon fiber body panels, revised front grille and unique brake cooling ducts. The carbon body panels significantly reduced the weight of the Camaro and the elimination of much of the production car sound system, carpet and back seat.
Low-gloss Icy White metallic exterior contrasts with the carbon aero parts, door graphics / red race number and details, and this competition-ready special track Camaro rolls on wheels and tires. This concept was built with contributions from Pratt & Miller Chevrolet Corvette Racing Partners with Riley Technologies and components in the Grand Am racing series.
