Cadillac presents the Urban Luxury Concept, a design study for a new type of vehicle, a luxurious experience in a very small size offers. The Urban Cadillac luxury concept complements the compact dimensions with the design, features and technology, Cadillac is known for.

“The Urban Cadillac luxury concept celebrates the cup with smart, innovative content that make it unique, regardless of size, power,” said Clay Dean, director of GM North America advanced design and Cadillac brand champion. “It’s a small road footprint but inside too.”

Developed in the Los Angeles area, where narrow, only parking for apartments, offices and even S-homes are part of daily traffic moves, the concept of iconic design of Cadillac elements in a form that warn the conventional vehicle design response to the needs of this metropolitan area motorists.

Comparable size to the popular city car in Paris, London and Shanghai found, the Urban Concept Luxury is a departure from conventional car design. It has space for four, with easy access to all available seats by a pair of scissor doors, extend and rotate forward when opened. The design promotes a spacious passenger compartment, which is deposited in the exquisite materials and offers the next generation of interactive technology. Replace touch pad and display screens expected to be the most traditional meters and serve as the audio and climate system controls – a feature that helps the opening of the unit for a larger passenger compartment.

“While its small size is an exploration of this concept of what Cadillac could be in the future, as the brand to continue to focus on redefining industry standards for advanced vehicle design and integrated technology,” said Don Butler, vice president for Cadillac marketing.

Engineers have developed a hybrid approach for the urban concept luxury, has a 1.0L three-cylinder turbo engine with electric assist technology, engine start / stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration and a dry dual-clutch gearbox. Based on extensive experience in the manufacture of prototypes and offer a combination of technologies the fuel economy estimates of 56 mpg in the city and 65 mpg on the highway in a vehicle the size and configuration of the Urban Concept Luxury.
