Details on General Motors 2011 model year vehicles is just starting to trickle. Although no official announcement was made, confirming a look out on order of GM do not want any of the 2011 Cadillac STS is a V8 option removed.

Since its launch in model year 2005, the STS 4.6L Northstar V8 was announced by GM optional. The overhead cam V8 has 320 hp and 315 lb-ft rated. Torque in the STS application. The Northstar engine from around 1992 and is in constant use since, with occasional updates.

For the 2008 model year GM has the 3.6 liter V6 SIDI engine as a base and replaces the old port injected 3.6 liter. The new V6 STS-power base increased to 302 hp and 272 lb-ft. Torque, the gap between the V6 and V8 models significantly.

GM is the expiry of the Northstar V8 in the past two years, so this is no surprise. It is unclear how long the aging of the STS will remain in production. Could this be further proof that it is not a Cadillac DTS in 2011 as the North Star is the only engine option.
