After a brief pause, the route again Cadillac hit in the Sports Car Club of America in World Challenge competition 2011 With its Cadillac CTS-V Coupe will develop a new racing car in cooperation with Pratt & Miller, New Hudson, Michigan, engineering company specializing in motorsports. Cadillac saw the last SCCA title in 2007 and will be back next year with a two-car team.
The CTS-V Coupe have to withstand many changes to the SCCA rules, but Cadillac is not yet known what changes the future include car racing. Of course, the fact that the standard coupe gets a 556 hp V8 engine is reason enough for some teams shaking in their performance tires.
The first race at the SCCA World Challenge CTS-V for the two sections on 25 March to 27 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Behind the wheel of the Cadillac is three times champion in the American Le Mans Series GT1, Johnny O’Connell and 2005 SCCA World Challenge GT class champion Andy Pilgrim are.
“The SCCA World Challenge is good for a natural transfer of knowledge, ” said Jim Campbell, GM vice president for performance cars and motor sports. “The series will become an important testing ground for Cadillac. We use what we learn on the race track to the V-series is expected at the top of the benefits.”
