“The new Audi A8 is the sportiest sedan in its segment,” said Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. “It combines many functions into a new and intelligent way. And it is unique in the elements of style and feel of the interior.” The new luxury sedan, will arrive in U.S. dealers late 2010, is a technical art. The elegant and powerful body is an aluminum Audi Space Frame (ASF), a weight of about 40 percent less than a comparable steel structure. The new A8 4.2 FSI with 273 kW starts with a (372 hp). The engine offers more power and torque – but the fuel consumption dropped by about 15 percent, thanks to the intelligent and efficient technologies, such as system recovery and innovative thermal management.
The new tiptronic: eight speeds for greater comfort and efficiency
The new transmission standard, also plays a large role in increasing the efficiency – a very handy 8-speed tiptronic fine graduates eight-speed, while achieving a high general circulation. The controls are operated by purely electronic level and an elegant selection switch on the steering wheel.
